MARKET INTELLIGENCE allows you to compare your business performance with that of your peers. It also assists you with wage and rent cost decisions.
Quarterly Market Reviews: We continue to disseminate quarterly trading data for principal retail sectors including Fashion, Footwear, Home & Gift, Pharmacy, Jewellery and Grocery.
Rent Investment Reviews: As in previous years we will review shopping centre, high street and retail park productivity and profitability and disseminate best and worst landlord performance to our members and the media. We will also continue to disseminate landlord agreed rent reductions which pertain in the marketplace.
National Salary Survey: We will conduct a national retail industry salary survey for all primary sectors referencing current salary levels and expected salary modification. The survey will also measure standard terms which apply to each sector of our industry.
Town Centre Management Review: We are investigating the benchmarking of performance of every Local Authority in Ireland against clear “good town centre management” principles. The review will highlight those Authorities who demonstrate a poor understanding of town centre management principles and practice.
Sectoral Data: We will provide more in-depth sector specific data to sectors willing to work in a co-operative spirit including pharmacy and telecommunications.
Service Charge: We will conduct a bi-annual review of service charge cost for all primary retail parks and shopping centres, listing the most expensive schemes, with a view to driving down this excessive cost base.
Specialist Indices: REI have launched two specialist indices in 2010. A home retail index monitors sales trends in electrical, furniture, flooring and home interiors. A hot beverage retail index monitors retail sales trends in this critical economic barometer and provide clear indication of discretionary spending in the marketplace.
